I’m Julie Fudge Smith, CPDT-KA, the owner of A Positive Connection Dog Training. I’ve been training dogs professionally since 2003 and started my business in 2007. Before starting A Positive Connection, I worked for All About Dogs in Woodbridge, Virginia.
I’ve taught beginning through advanced obedience classes, but I specialize in family dog training as well as behavior modification.
I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), and an AKC Canine Good Citizen® evaluator. I am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, The Pet Professional Guild, American Kennel Club, and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Continuing education is very important to me and I have attended seminars and training classes taught by Ken Ramirez, Kathy Sdao, Sue Sternberg, Patricia McConnell, and Trish King, among others.
I’ve written for several publications, including The Chronicle of the Dog, and Professional Pet Sitter. I am a regular columnist for a local newsletter, and I blog on a variety of canine topics.
